The Royals entered Boys and Girls U14 teams and a mixed U12 team for the annual Cal Cup tournament in Moorpark, CA. This was our first time to Cal Cup and we are very proud of all age groups for taking on this tough challenge and facing some experienced teams.
The Royals entered a U16 and two U14 teams for the annual Play 4 Pink tournament in Vista. As the youngest teams in both divisions, we did very well, coming second in the U14 and second in our bracket at U16. We are very proud of our players and it was a fun day for all.
We were invited to play HBHS in a U16 game. This was a fun day and rare chance to play full field, 11 v 11 hockey. Despite a 1-0 loss, it was great experience for all and we look forward to doing it again soon!
We were invited to play HTC and Myto down in La Jolla for a U14 play day, and took two teams down there. This was a fun day and for some of the kids their first chance to play competitively. A great experience for all and we look forward to doing it again soon!
Our U14 team played at Cal State Games this July and came second in the division. We are proud of all the kids for their effort against some tough teams.
Our U14 and U12 teams played their hearts out at P4P this May. It was a great showing with tons of effort, really good performances and all round solid team-bonding. It was a new experience for some of our beginner players, and a great way to go out in style for our 14 year olds now aging out. We came second in both age brackets and are very proud of all our players.
Our first tournament was a success, with a Royals team coming in second and third place at U14 and U10. This marks the first youth club-level field hockey tournament in Orange County and we were very happy to provide a new playing opportunity for kids in our area. A big thanks to everyone that helped make it an enjoyable day.
We are registered with USA Field Hockey in Region 11 West. If you have kids planning to play in High School or beyond, we are a great way to pre-train them to a competitive level by their freshman year/age 14.
We have experienced, SafeSport-trained coaches with a good player-to-coach ratio. The club is currently split into Development and Advanced training groups. We are a 100% volunteer-run charity, and continue to grow and improve the experience we offer.
Get in touch via the form below and come along to learn more about this dynamic and fun sport at no cost for the first couple of sessions. Field Hockey is a dynamic team sport played on grass or AstroTurf, at all levels from club, high school, NCAA up to the Olympics. If your child likes soccer or lacrosse, they should really love field hockey! Please do not mistake it for ice hockey; these are quite different sports, especially in terms of contact. Learn more with our Field Hockey 101 page.
Girls and boys, ages 7-14. We are a co-ed team, split into U10 and U14 age groups. Beginners (early or late) are 100% welcome. We encourage a fun and safe learning atmosphere with an emphasis on teamwork, good sportsmanship and confidence-building.
Along with our SC Royals League, South County Royals Field Hockey trains players to play teams and participate in tournaments in southern California.
